“Who is John Galt?”

That simple question opens one of the most important books published in the 20th century, Ayn Rand’s incomparable 1100-page novel Atlas Shrugged.

Atlas Shrugged is the story of the downfall of a once-thriving nation, now rotting from within because of government policies that embrace liberalism, socialism, and nationalism — everything we see happening in America today.

This web site embraces Ayn Rand’s fierce commitment to individualism, as well as the system of economics that best promotes it — capitalism. The name of this web site was inspired by a chapter of her book, titled “The John Galt Line.”

I hope my own lines of thinking will be as clear and triumphant as those expressed throughout her book, but most lucidly in the words of its driving force, John Galt.

Feel free to visit some of the links I’ve provided in the blogroll section. In them, you’ll see a cross section of the best conservative and liberal reporting on the Web. I have my own opinions regarding some of the sites. But what value you attribute to them, or what wisdom you glean from them, is entirely up to you.

Welcome to Galt Lines!
